Chicken with White Wine Sauce

Submitted by Ashley Nelson

Ingredients:

24 pearl onions, peeled
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
4 strips-thick sliced bacon
4 lbs of chicken
Salt and Pepper
1 Can of Cream of Chicken
1 Cup of dry white wine
2 tsp Italian Seasoning ( I use McCormicks)
2 tsp minced garlic

Directions:

Add onions and mushrooms to crock pot.

In a large skillet of medium heat, fry bacon until crispy. Reserve bacon for garnish. Discard all but 2T. of bacon fat. Cut up and season chicken with salt and pepper. In same skillet, brown all chicken pieces on all sides in bacon fat. Place browned chicken into crock pot.

In a medium bowl, stir together cream of chicken, whit wine, Italian seasoning, and garlic. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook for 8 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high.

Remove chicken from crock pot and place on serving platter. Ladle white wine sauce over chicken and garnish with crumbled bacon.
